# Projects

Projects are where you manage data and screens for a single application; where each project has its own tables, screens, workflows and permission settings.

TIP

You can access your projects at any time by going to the home screen, which you can access by clicking on the Gridfox icon.

# Creating a Project

Create a new project by clicking the New Project button in the top right of the home screen.

NewProject

You will have the option to create a project:

  • Using the Screen Builder
  • Using the Table Builder
  • From a Template

With each of the options you will be able to set up all that you need to get your project up and running. There are four different components of a project. See each of the below sections for more information:

  1. Tables - where your data is stored
  2. Screens - how your data is presented
  3. Workflows - actions that are automatically taken on your data
  4. Users & Permissions - who can access the data

TIP

The number of Projects you can create is limited by your Account Plan. To find out more see the Account Plans section.

# Screen Builder vs. Table Builder

When creating a project, if you select Screen Builder or Table Builder, enter a name for your project and click the next arrow.

ProjectName

Your project will be created and open in the screen builder or table builder.

The table builder shows an overview of all of the project tables and how they are linked together. The screen builder allows you to view each table in more detail and customise each of the screens.

# Project Templates

Rather than starting from an empty project, you can can create a project from one of the Gridfox templates.

After clicking New Project, select the template you would like to use then enter a name for your project and click the next arrow.

ProjectName

This will create a copy of the template as a project in your account which you can edit right away in either the table builder or screen builder.
